Are you Fire Ready?
Fire Ready is the checklist that SEU has in place to ensure that you are ready and registered for the school year!
Most of these items will be handled with your SEU Advisor, but we know that sometimes having a checklist that you can reference over and over again can be helpful!
As of Spring 2024, JMC’s SEU Advisor is Kaylee Roth (keroth@seu.edu).
Enrollment Confirmation Form - You will not be able to access your SEU email and other accounts until you fill out the enrollment confirmation form, which can be found on SEU's student opportunity page under your Application Status URL.
Financial Aid Items - If you are using financial aid, you need to be sure to complete any missing items, including the FAFSA. You can find more resources and tools here.
High School Transcripts - Be sure your official/final high school transcripts have been submitted to SEU. If you are transferring after receiving an associates degree, be sure that those transcripts have been submitted. To do this, you can reach out to your school and they will either send them on your behalf, or give them to you. These need to be emailed to your SEU Advisor. Some schools will charge money for you the copy of these transcripts.
Register for Classes - Once the Pre-Registration Hold has been lifted, you can now register for classes! Please keep in mind that some financial aid is dependent on how many credit hours you take. Students enrolling in Bachelor degrees can register for classes with Brooke by scheduling an appointment at calendly.com/bberm. Master and Mdiv students can register with the SEU Advisor. Suggested class plans are listed below for all Bachelor Degrees.
Financial Clearance - Once you enroll in classes, you need to make sure your anticipated balance is paid with financial aid: either by setting up a payment plan or paying for it upfront on Nelnet. To be financially cleared, this must be completed before the first day of classes.
Once everything has been done, you will then be Fire Ready and will be cleared to start the Fall Semester! You can check your Fire Ready Status on JICS.
Other Helpful Pieces of Info
Need help finding solutions? Please reach out to a SFS Counselor to walk through options. We’re open through summer!
It is better to be Fire Ready early! The closer it gets to the Fall semester, it will be harder to reach a SFS Counselor due to the high volume of calls and emails.
SEU can no longer roll over balances from one semester to the next. If you overpay for one semester, a check will be sent to the home address on file.
To ensure that there is no disruption to your classes, all balances need to be paid in full prior to the start of the Fall Semester for any charges not covered by financial aid or a payment plan.
